Aligarh girl declared dead, found alive

A mysterious case has come into focus from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh that, a girl who had been declared dead in 2015 has been found alive after 7years.

 On 17th Feb, 2015 a missing report was filed at the police station by the girl’s family and later a dead girl’s body was recovered in Agra. The girl’s family recognized the body as their daughter through the clothes on her body. Followed by this incident a young man named Vishnu Gautam from Dhanthauli village was convicted of the felony and sentenced for murder and destroying evidence under IPC sections 302, and 201. A charge sheet was prepared on 25th September, 2015 and he was put into jail but was later released on bail. However the girl’s family had requested the court to send Vishnu to jail and subsequently through trial he was sent back. He has been serving his time for 7years now .

Over the years Vishnu’s mother had tried to look for the missing girl to prove her son’s innocence finally finding her through the help of a source that the girl for whose murder her son has been accused is living in Hathras along with her husband and 2 children. On confirmation of the girl’s identity Vishnu’s mother had seek help from Hindu activists in Aligarh and approached SSP Kalanidhi Naithani , under whose orders the woman now 22years old was arrested from Hathras gate area in the village of Nagla Chokha. DSP Raghavendra Singh has reported that the woman’s DNA will be tested for proper identification and further process of the case.

The mother of the accused had informed that the woman’s family is forcing her to ‘compromise’ in the case.

It is now time to wait and see where the case evolves and will Vishnu’s family ‘compromise’. Though the case seems straight out from a mystery novel with number of unanswered questions but the people await with baited breath for the answers and the police to take the right decision.
