Sabyasachi and Masaba Gupta condole Wendell Rodricks's death: Sad day for Indian fashion

Acclaimed fashion designers Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Masaba Gupta and Anita Dongre, paid tribute to Wendell Rodricks in heartfelt posts on social media. Wendell Rodricks died at his Goa residence on February 12. He was 59.

On his Instagram account, Sabyasachi posted a message for Rodricks on a black plate. "Rest in peace, Wendell Rodricks. It's a sad day for Indian fashion."

Masaba Gupta put up an emotional post and also shared several pictures. "Lost a 'proud-dad' and my dear Sir. Can't get myself to say goodbye in person today so will save that for another time when I see you on the other side," she wrote in the caption of her post.

Anita Dongre also paid tribute to Rodricks on her Instagram stories: "A great designer, a warm wonderful caring human being and a good friend since over 35 years. You will be missed dearly".

Designer Hemant Sagar said, "I first met him when we were both invited to stock in a multi-designer store almost two decades ago, because we were the only two Indian designers with a Western sensibility and he loved a pair of pants I was wearing, made by me. He later bought one of them and was shopping in Paris where he bumped into Karl Lagerfeld who loved them. So that's what dear Wendell was for me, a man always true to himself,"
